Sara Teel is a local orienteer who decided to try ARDF on two meters.  The dark sky behind her is a sign of impending rain.

George Fremin K5TR is another local who gave two-meter ARDF a try.

Rain began about halfway through the starting cycle and continued intermittently through the entire foxhunt.  Natalia Bondarenco (W35) is running up the finish corridor toward the punch station and a silver medal.

The rain was heavy when Evghenii Vorsin arrived at the finish for a bronze medal in M40.

It's wet out there!  Harley Leach KI7XF finishes the two-meter course in M70 second place.

"Neither rain, nor snow..."  Nothing stops Bob Cooley KF6VSE from completing an ARDF course.  Today he won bronze in M70.

Here comes Scott Moore KF6IKO, the sixth place finisher in M50.

Box lunches awaited the finishers and the volunteers.  Jerry Boyd WB8WFK has dried out after his run and is enjoying his lunch.

This marked map was posted in the lunchroom to show where the transmitters were.

After every event, competitors downloaded their e-sticks and received a printout of their times for each transmitter.  Marvin Johnston KE6HTS was in charge of the electronic scoring, using equipment from the Los Angeles Orienteering Club.  This year, USA's championships used FjwW software by Karl-Heinz Schade DL7VDB, which is also used for the World ARDF Championships.

Saturday evening, after everyone had dried out and put on clean clothes, they gathered for a barbecue buffet and awards.

Nancy McCain K5NLM, the ARRL Section Manager for North Texas, was a dinner guest.

James Harker, son of Ken and Jen, passed out the medals.
