Vadim Afonkin KB1RLI had the best overall time this day, exactly 36 minutes to find four transmitters.

Alla Mezhevaya of Rockford, Illinoisi is about to earn a silver medal in W35 category.


These three ham radio operators are regulars at the USA Championships:  Bob Cooley KF6VSE, Mike Schuh KF7QDZ and Dick Arnett WB4SUV.  Bob is on his way to gold in M70 and Mike will capture bronze in M50.  Behind them is Zhuoyao Luo.


Marji Garrett KJ4ZKC of Alexandria, Kentucky earned silver in W50 category.


Alexandria Bondarenko flies up the starting corridor on her way to a silver medal in W21 category.


Ziyu Huang followed by Jian Luo.


Xiaouy Jiang followed by Jiayong Wang.


Qiaojian Yie found all five transmitters in 58 minutes to win gold in W21.


Most competitors followed this trail into the woods.  You can see several in the distance.


Zehua Zhang punches in at the finish.

Twelver-year-old Yi Xu finishes to capture bronze in W13.


As soon as the last competitor came in and the electronic scores were tallied, medals were awarded for the 80-meter classic.  Here are the first place winners.  Left to right:  Natalia Bondarenko (W35); Guangli Ye (W50); Qiaojian Yie (W21); Ziyu Huang (W13); Yuyin Huang (W16); Yanchen Liu (M13); Jianchi Zhan (M19); Norbert Linke (M21); Vadim Afonkin, KB1RLI (M40); Iurii Kolesnykov, UR3QRR (M50); Jay Hennigan, WB6RDV (M60) and Bob Cooley, KF6VSE (M70).
