North Carolina forests are beautiful, even in the rain. This footbridge crosses Sycamore creek near the 2m finish line.
The trees grow tall here!
Everyone gathered at this shelter at the south end of William B. Umstead Park on Friday afternoon for a practice session and cookout.
The two-meter transmitters had unique crossed-loop omnidrectional horizontally-polarized antennas.
The 80-meter transmitters used very long wire antennas, launched high into the tall trees. There were no radials, just ground stakes.
As always, mascot Ardee Fox presided over the Championships.
Nick Roethe DF1FO of Germany included the USA Championships as part of a trip to the USA.
